Building brighter futures for New York City students
through speech-language therapy and education.
Spotlighting the transformative impact that speech-language pathologists and educators have on their communities.
We are clinicians and educators committed to addressing the educational needs of students across New York City and its surrounding boroughs.
Educators, whether they are classroom teachers or specialized professionals like Speech Language Pathologists, often create lasting impressions that extend well into adulthood. Research has repeatedly shown that a dedicated educator can influence students' self-esteem, resilience, and career choices. Their influence can even echo through family lines as students share the lessons and values imparted to them with their own children.
Recognitions like the "I Am Speech" Empowerment Banquet not only celebrate individual achievements but also spotlight the transformative impact that educators and speech-language pathologists have on their communities. Awards in these fields emphasize that excellence in communication and teaching often leads to ripple effects—helping students build confidence, overcome challenges, and ultimately shape future generations.
If you know a colleague who deserves to be recognized for their service to students, please email the committee to submit your candidate. Final selection of nominees will be made during the month of May 2026 by the Speech-Language Pathology Stars (SLPS) committee, therefore don't hesitate to nominate a deserving candidate.
